About Baylee Bookman

B Smilin Performance Horses

Baylee began riding horses around the farm and in small, local play days at the age of 5.  She continued focusing mainly on barrel racing, and traveled to NBHA shows. She qualified for the youth world show and made it back to finals three consecutive years starting in 2005.  At the age of 14 she started an internship under a local cutting trainer and worked for him 8 years on and off. There she learned about the cutting industry and breaking colts.  During college she took in outside horses and realized she had enough clientele to start up a business.  In 2016 she started B Smilin Performance Horses, and it hit the ground running. Baylee offers a wide variety of services in her training program from starting colts, training barrel horses, cutting horses, selling horses on consignments, and coaching clinics. She has observed, talked with, and learned from some of the best trainers around and continues to do so today. Some of her more recent accomplishments in the performance horse industry include:

  • 2016 State Fair of Texas $1000 Novice Horse Champion

  • 2016 & 2017 USCHA Open Ranch Top 5

  • 2017 USCHA Open Ranch Reserve Champion
