At B Smilin Performance Horses, we believe that the best horses come from quality training. We don't believe in cutting corners or skipping steps. The more time put into a horse's fundamentals, the more prepared they will be for their career. It's as simple as that, no matter if the horse is meant to be a high performance athlete or a cruiser out on the trails. The more time we have with your horse, the better they will be.

Haul-ins are welcome or lesson horses are available. We can work on anything whether its ground work, riding posture, barrels/poles or working cows. No time restrictions.

Horses from all ages that need to be halter broke and learn ground manners such as picking up feet, grooming, baths, clipping, lunging, standing tied etc.

Horses will be started on barrel and pole pattern slowly and correctly.

Horses will be started correctly on flag and cattle. The longer they stay in this program the better results you will have. It takes about 1-2 years to make a finished cutting horse, depending on the horse.

CUTTING

Can range from getting horses in shape, to putting a better handle on a horse or to tune on barrels or cattle

Taking halter broke or untouched horses and starting them under saddle. Generally like to keep these types of horses for minimum of 3 months.
